October in Pictures

I know that most of these are of Elly...but she's just quite worthy of pictures these days. Logan is in an "awww, no more pictures" phase unless he's taking them and Landon is still just rolling around a lot...but how can I resist putting these pictures from this month of Miss Priss???

This picture is worth a thousand words...it is the epitome of Elly. She loves babies, loves hats, loves boots (or any shoes really, but boots are a favorite of the favorites) and loves reading books. I love this girl!

I love this picture--I made this shirt and found the perfect knee high socks to match with witches on them. Elly is requesting "2 pony tay-wls" quite often these days--and of course I have to go with it because she's too cute not to. I haven't let her know that this is my favorite hairdo. I'd like to keep it around a little longer!

I had to include this because it was after quite possibly the worst day I've had with three kids. Jarrod's flight was delayed all day, so he wasn't going to be making it home until nearly bedtime and family bookfair was that night. So, I went to get Elly after her nap and she had not only pooped, she had taken off her diaper and it was EVERYWHERE. While I was getting her bath ready, Logan came in half asleep and peed all over me....ahhhh how I enjoy being a mother some days! HA! So, after a bath and getting dressed in my favorite fall creation, we were ready to all go to the bookfair and really had a great evening.

Look at how cute this boy is!! I made his little spider shirt too, but the eyes didn't quite survive!

Landon 6 Months

At six Months, Landon is:

*rolling all around

*getting his binkie and putting it in his mouth

*holding his own bottle

*able to sit up with assistance

*babbling quite a bit

*spitting and blowing "bubbles"

We've had issues with his weight since his 4 month appointment, so the doctor has me supplementing him with one 8 oz. bottle of formula a day. He has been able to gain a little bit of weight since, but is still tiny. He weighs 13 lbs. 2 oz. and is in the 2nd percentile. We're pretty used to this at our house at 6 months, but we weren't quite ready for his jump down at 4 months. Thankfully we're no longer as concerned and know that he will just be small for a while and then get a little bigger later. I will say that it has been quite stressful for me in particular and that I've taken it quite hard. I can't really describe how I've felt, so I'll just leave it at its been a very difficult two months. Landon is a great baby, but not quite the sleeper that the other two were, so I'm sure that has also added to the stress.

I love, love, love baby's discovering their feet and that they can get them in their mouth. I think that I posted one of Elly just like this and it doesn't seem like it was all that long ago!!!

Silly Elly story

Last Wednesday night, my sister-in-law, Lorre and her husband, Andrew were staying with the kids and I. Jarrod was in San Diego again and they were gracious enough to stay with us to make the bedtime routine and early morning "getting to school" easier on me. (HUGE thank you for that!!) During dinner, Elly was just being herself and I think that "Uncle Drew" wanted to crawl under the table to keep from letting her see him laugh throughout dinner.

First, she wanted some crackers. I told her that as soon as her chicken and green beans were gone, she could have some. She very sweetly ate a few pieces. I looked down and she picked up all of her chicken in her hands and says "I'm all done, Mommy. I want crackers now." I didn't even know what she was doing, but Andrew was laughing, so after checking I of course told her, "No, your chicken has to be all gone." She proceeded to throw it all onto Auntie's plate and tell me it was all gone. Smart little booger!

Next, she looks at Andrew and says, "I gonna make you cry!"

Finally, She got into trouble for sitting on her knees and playing at the dinner table. As I'm getting up from the table, she looks at Lorre and says: "When Mommy's gone, I can sit on my knees."

Then, at school yesterday, she got upset with one of her friends for taking her bow out. She proceeded to take him by the hand and march him to her teacher and tell her: "Ms. Amy. Hewson take my bow. I want you to put him in time out now."

She's a mess...and I love her to PieCeS!!!

Elly is Two

Our sweet Elly is two--it is so hard to believe! She has grown SOOO much in the past year and is such a joy. She keeps life interesting and busy. She loves her brothers, loves babies, loves her mama and daddy and grandparents. She always has a smile--even when she is being strong willed and opinionated. Some of her favorites:

*shoes, shoes, shoes--especially rain boots
*necklaces and bracelets
*hats--any and all hats, but especially tabogans
*socks
*gloves
*books--her favorites right now are Tea for Ruby and Fancy Nancy
*music of any kind and dancing
*bouncy balls

Sizes--right now she is in 18-24 months shirts & dresses
she is in size 12-18 months pants and size 5 shoes

2 year stats: she definitely outgrew her low weight issue after I had Landon. Gammie helped "fatten her up" and she's grown a ton. She weighs 27 lbs. and is 33 inches tall.

Since 18 months, she's been speaking in complete sentences and speaking extremely clearly. She is definitely a talker and keeps us laughing with her stories and songs. She sings constantly, already knows her ABCs, the sounds of several letters, most of her main colors (although she definitely mixes some of them up). She can count to ten, but after that it gets a little sketchy. She knows half of her New Testament books of the Bible with song and again it gets a little sketchy after that. I still haven't braved scissors or really started working on shapes with her. She has a love for learning, is extremely opinionated ("I don't wanna wear THOSE pants, Maaaama!"--wish I could record on paper that attitude in Maaaama, but I'll just hope to remember), and is quite independent. She is a little mama and definitely wants to be the one doing the "caretaking" in this family. Jarrod and I always say she's going to be the glue in our family and she is already proving to be. Logan adores her, Landon lights up when she walks into a room or he hears her sweet voice, Jarrod and I are just thrilled to be her parents. She is SUCH a special little girl and a blessing like none other.
