My Greatest Joy

I know I'm biased, but this is my favorite recent picture...It makes us all laugh every time we see it--Elly pulled her pigtail out on her way to the hospital and none of us thought to fix her hair before letting her hold Landon for the first time. I'm glad we didn't--it is a source of so many smiles and laughs--Just like our sweet Elly.

This picture says it all--no prompting from anyone-- just sweet, genuine love and kisses for her baby brother.

Excitement

I realized after I had completely vented and panicked publicly and got through my little "freak out" session that I hadn't been fair AT ALL to Sweet Baby3. We are SO pumped! We are so excited to meet this precious little miracle--to be able to finally put a face and gender with this baby and to be able to call it by name. I am amazed that God has blessed our family so richly. I am amazed that he has allowed me to love and mother two amazing children and I am anxious to be able to say three amazing children--WHAT a blessing. God is SO good and we already love this little baby so much. I cannot wait to see the looks and little "touches" of Logan and Elly with this baby and to watch our family complete so richly. I cannot wait to watch the man I love more than life itself give himself so selflessly and so completely to another child--if you've ever seen Jarrod with his kids you know what I am talking about and how HUGE my heart gets at watching him love our children. We are SO ready, SO excited and SO blessed to meet our Sweet Baby3--our "joy" baby. Thank you God for entrusting us with the opportunity to raise another precious child to learn to love and serve you!

Rough Week

Well...this week has been rough...to say the least. We started the week with news that one of our precious "little" friends had the flu. So, after a call to the doctor, I got on Tamiflu. That night, during the night, Jarrod came down with a NASTY stomach bug. It has managed to knock out a member of our household daily. So far, Jarrod had it Monday night and Tuesday, Logan had it Tuesday night and Wednesday, my sweet Mother got it this morning...so far Elly and I have avoided it, but its just a matter of time. Thankfully for me, they can give me zofran in my iv tomorrow morning...unfortunately for me, sweet Elly will have to rely on someone else to clean her up and take care of her--this doesn't make for a very happy mama! If you know me, you know I don't like giving up control...this is going to take it out of me...being in the hospital trying to take care of Sweet Baby3 and worrying the whole time about our precious Elly. Obviously, I know that she's in not only good hands, but GREAT hands (assuming my mom is well enough to care for her), but still--she's my baby and I have the hormones of a 9 month preggo lady...giving up control is not really in my book. I've been told today that maybe that's why God is allowing this--so that I can be prepared for the chaos that is 3 kids. I'm not sure, but I AM sure that I don't like it--NOT. ONE. BIT! I just pray that somehow, someway my mom recovers quicker than Logan and Jarrod did and that Elly can just not get it at all. Then pray that we can somehow get this sick infested house re-cleaned (a cleaning service came all day Tuesday, so my VERY clean, VERY disinfected house is now a complete and total SICK zone within 2 days...that will require some heavy bleach in 2 of the 3 bathrooms and in 3 bedrooms...yikes!)...but I of course want it cleaned (again) before we bring Sweet Baby3 home. Crazy...nuts...insane--that's what this week has been and I'm pretty sure by this time next week that's what I will be if all of this doesn't just go away. Soon.

All of that aside, we are still scheduled to deliver (cut time--as the nurse told me today--yes nice thought) at 8:30 tomorrow morning. So, please pray for easy surgery, easy recovery and a precious, healthy Sweet Baby3. We'll update tomorrow with pictures, gender, name, birth info.

Easter 2010

Easter 2010 was a lot of fun. We started the day off with the visit from the Easter Bunny who delivered baskets of toys and candy, which also had "bean beans" for Elly for the first time. Then we went to church to celebrate the resurrection of our Christ. We came home for lunch of roast, potatoes, carrots, asparagus, deviled eggs and strawberry shortcake and a traditional Easter egg hunt. After naps, we headed to our church egg hunt and hot dog dinner. It was a fun-filled fantastic day and we were so grateful to have the Hemphill's and Annie with us for the day.

Baby Emily Comes to Visit

Jarrod's best friend, Matt, and his precious family are here visiting for Easter weekend. Their baby girl is absolutely beautiful and such a sweet baby. It has been a fun weekend of our kids playing together and getting reaquainted after several months of being apart.

Baby Lincoln Graham

One of my close friends had a sweet baby boy on April 1. Lincoln is absolutely perfect and just a sweet, sweet baby. I'm so excited that our babies will be able to grow up together!

Logan's First T-ball Game of 2010

Logan is once again playing t-ball. We love this sport and Logan loves playing--this year is already so much more fun to watch than the 4 year old team he was on last year because they seem to "get it" so much better as a team.

Sweet Baby 3 Shower

We had a LOVELY shower for sweet Baby3 hosted by some of our best friends. God truly has blessed us with an amazing church family and some of the best of friends. Unfortunately, I forgot to take the traditional hostess picture, but I did get a few pictures worth posting. Thank each of you for everything that you did!

Snow 2010

Its hard to imagine that we had the amount of snowfall this year that we have had. It was pretty unbelievable to have 14 inches at our house--with some of the largest snowflakes I had ever seen falling for an entire day. We had a blast with it!
